Regarding Chakraborty’s new role, the company highlighted her impressive experience in managing complex transformations, especially in her current position where she leads over 185,000 Accenture employees across more than 125 Intelligent Operations Centres. Her focus has been on driving rapid transformation through the use of analytics, artificial intelligence, and automation.

In her new role, Arundhati Chakraborty will oversee the growth of Accenture’s $10 billion operations business, focusing on opportunities created by generative AI and automation, according to the company.

Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture, highlighted that Arundhati’s extensive experience in collaborating with clients to implement large-scale operational transformations makes her exceptionally qualified to lead this vital segment of the company.

Julie Sweet also emphasized that Arundhati’s dedication to developing talent and innovative services, particularly in the areas of generative AI and automation, makes her the perfect fit to lead the Operations division.

Yusuf Tayob, who will step down from his position as group chief executive of operations to take a position as head of Accenture’s global communications, media, and technology (CMT) industry practices, brings with him 20 years of CMT experience and industry knowledge.

Tayob has occupied numerous executive roles at Accenture, such as heading the Salesforce business group within Accenture Technologies and the North American CMT consulting practice.

Speaking about him, CEO Sweet stated, “Yusuf has extraordinary qualities to lead our industry practices within CMT that are our top priorities.” Accenture will continue to provide even more value to our clients under his direction, I’m sure of it.
