Apple iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus: The US tech giant Apple unveiled its flagship iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, Apple A18 chip, and Apple Watch 10 devices on September 9 during a special ‘Glowtime’ event.
Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, shared a video clip of the newly released items on social networking site X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly after the introduction.
“Welcome to the new era of iPhone! Designed with Apple Intelligence, the iPhone 16 lineup offers a powerful, personalized, and private experience at your fingertips. With the new Camera Control feature, you’ll never miss a moment,” wrote Tim Cook.
Apple Special Glowtime Event
During the Glowtime event on September 9, Apple revealed a range of hardware, including new products and enhanced features. Among the highlights were the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, the updated Apple Watch Ultra 2, and a refreshed AirPods lineup, along with software updates on iOS 18.
iPhone 16 Serie
The iPhone 16 series, which is equipped with Apple Intelligence, consists of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
- The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus come with several enhancements, including five new color choices, a customizable Action Button, and a new Camera Control feature.
- Both models are equipped with a 48MP main camera with pixel binning, a 12MP telephoto camera with 2X zoom, and an improved ultrawide camera with autofocus.
- The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max offer larger screens—6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively—and are powered by the cutting-edge A18 Pro chipset, built using a 3-nanometer process.
- The 256GB and 512GB variants of the iPhone 16 are priced at ₹89,900 and ₹1,09,900, respectively, while the iPhone 16 Plus is available for ₹99,900 (256GB) and ₹1,19,900 (512GB).
- Both models will be available for pre-order on September 13, with sales starting on September 20.
Apple AirPods
Apple unveiled the AirPods 4, featuring numerous upgrades powered by the new H2 chip. These earbuds deliver improved audio quality with richer bass and enhanced treble, along with personalized spatial audio for a more immersive listening experience.
- The AirPods 4 come in a compact USB-C case, priced at $129, with a noise-cancelling version available for $179.
- The AirPods Max will be released in new colors—midnight, blue, purple, orange, and starlight—while maintaining their price of $549.
Apple Watch Series 10
The OLED display on the Apple Watch Series 10 has been enlarged and brightened, making it 40% brighter and 10% thinner and lighter.
- The Series 10 introduces polished Titanium, replacing stainless steel, and offers matching new bands.
- It features the new S10 chipset with a 4-core Neural engine and includes sleep apnea tracking, a feature also being added to the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
- The Apple Watch Ultra 2 remains mostly unchanged but adds a new Satin Black Titanium color option alongside the existing Natural Titanium model.
