Boat Lifestyle Co-founder and CMO, Aman Gupta, asserts that the key to building a successful brand is to design the right products for customers and ensure their satisfaction. In an exclusive discussion with Business Today, Gupta explained, “Our focus is on creating the right products, keeping our customers happy, and remaining aspirational and relevant. This approach helps us maintain our competitive edge.”

Since its inception in 2016, Boat Lifestyle has excelled in the Indian market, establishing a robust presence in the consumer electronics sector, especially in audio products.

Speaking about his journeys, Gupta stated that the speed at which India was changing impressed him. “We noticed that as India evolved, there was a chance to make something that connected with the younger generation,” he stated. We were in the perfect location at the ideal moment.

Gupta also discussed the difficulties the business has in an extremely cutthroat market like India, particularly given the abundance of well-known Chinese companies. “Businesses like OnePlus have always been there, even when we first started,” he declared. They cause disruptions with their aggressive pricing, but by concentrating on our advantages, we have always prevailed. 

“There were many challenges,” he continued. “They included growing the business year after year, staying ahead of the competition, and scaling it.” There will always be challenges, therefore we must learn to overcome them carefully.

At the launch of the Nirvana Ivy earbuds, Gupta shared that initially, all the revenue generated from their products was reinvested into “product development” and “marketing.” He explained, “Our loyal customers are a result of our commitment to excellent service and reinvesting our profits into enhancing our products.”

The Boat co-founder also disclosed plans for global expansion. When discussing the growth of wearable products, he mentioned, “Our primary focus remains on audio, which is our core area. However, we are also delving into wearables. Our first product in this category is a smart ring. Although we haven’t finalized a full lineup, we are concentrating on premium wearables.”
