Meet this chemical engineer, the daughter of one of the wealthiest Indian ladies, who, upon the death of her father, took over a firm worth Rs 40034 crore.

She is a multidimensional Indian businesswoman whose enthusiasm for sustainability motivates her to promote eco-friendly methods both inside and outside the company and to conserve resources.

In 1990, after earning her master’s degree in chemical engineering, she began working as a trainee engineer for her parent firm, which specializes in energy and environmental engineering. In order to revitalize a faltering subsidiary, she and her spouse moved to the UK after two years. After their successful comeback, her father passed away in 1996, and they had to return to India because of a family issue. In the late 1990s, she was elevated to the board of the company as her mother restructured it. From 1996 to 2004, the corporation was chaired by her mother. By Forbes’ 2007 list of the 40 Richest Indians by Net Worth, she was one of the eight wealthiest Indian women.

Anu Aga’s daughter, Meher Pudumjee, took over as chairman of Thermax in 2004. She graduated with a postgraduate degree in chemical engineering from Imperial College in London and was born in Pune, Maharashtra. Thermax Director Pheroz Pudumjee is her spouse. Her father, Rohinton Aga, died unexpectedly, forcing her to return to India. Her enthusiasm for sustainability motivates her to conserve resources and promote eco-friendly practices both inside and outside of her company. She is a multidimensional Indian businesswoman.   

She is on the boards of Imperial College India Foundation, Pidilite Industries, Shakti Sustainable Solutions, Pune City Connect, Teach for India, and Akanksha Foundation. Outside of work, Meher is a philanthropist, loves western classical music, sings in a choir, loves to spend time with her dog and family, works out frequently, and has a positive outlook on life.

Meher has garnered various accolades for her excellent contributions to business and society. In 2008, she was honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, acknowledging her professional achievements, commitment to humanitarian causes, and ability to affect the future. She was recognized by Business Standard as the 2009 CEO of the Year the following year.
