In another internal promotion, Wipro announced on Friday that Srikumar Rao has been appointed as the Global Head of its Engineering Edge business line, effective October 5. He takes over from Harmeet Chauhan, who is leaving the company to explore new opportunities.

Srikumar, who has been with Wipro for 26 years, will now report to Chief Executive Srini Pallia. Previously, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Wipro Engineering Edge (WEE) and the Global Practice Head of Embedded Systems.

According to a business filing with the BSE, Srikumar will further expand and fortify Wipro’s engineering capabilities in his new position. In addition, he will be in charge of outlining the goals and expansion plan for Wipro’s ER&D Services division.

Pallia stated, “Srikumar’s journey from a campus recruit to holding multiple leadership roles within Wipro makes him the perfect fit for this position. His exceptional dedication, deep technological expertise, and strong client-focused approach have been crucial to the success of Wipro Engineering Edge, significantly enhancing our project delivery and achieving industry-leading customer satisfaction (NPS) scores. He has also played a key role in securing high-profile deals across various sectors.”

This appointment aligns with Wipro’s ongoing restructuring efforts under Pallia’s leadership. Earlier this month, the company promoted veteran Nanda Kishore, formerly the COO of Americas One, to the role of Chief of Delivery and Operational Excellence. Additionally, Wipro announced that Dilip Dialani, who has been with the company for nearly two decades, will succeed Nanda as COO of Americas One in the third quarter. The firm also elevated its Chief Information Security Officer, Aathir Ahad, a 21-year Wipro veteran, to a more prominent role.

The company appointed Sandhya Arun as Chief Technology Officer, just hours after Subha Tatavarti stepped down from the CTO position to explore opportunities outside India’s fourth-largest IT firm.
