Hyderabad’s Dontireddy Gangadhara Reddy, founder of BlueDrop Enviro, has recently been honored with an honorary doctorate from Chicago Open University. The convocation ceremony took place at the India International Centre in New Delhi.
Reddy, a green card holder from the USA, initially built a successful career in the IT sector, establishing two software companies over a decade. After returning to India, he pivoted to sustainable development, driven by a vision for a greener future. He left his IT career to address water pollution issues, focusing on nature-based solutions for wastewater and sewage treatment and lake remediation.
BlueDrop Enviro, under Reddy’s leadership, has made significant progress in promoting environmental sustainability in India over the past seven years. The company specializes in scientific and eco-friendly solutions for sewage treatment and polluted lake remediation.
Reddy advocates for lifestyle changes that reduce pollution and encourages both private and government entities to adopt well-engineered, nature-based solutions. He also stresses the importance of educational institutions in implementing these solutions to foster environmental awareness and equip the next generation to protect the environment.
