Bandhan Bank announced on Saturday that its board has approved a one-month extension for the term of its interim managing director and CEO, Ratan Kumar Kesh.
In a stock exchange filing, the bank stated, “Following the Reserve Bank of India’s approval and the recommendation from the nomination and remuneration committee, the board of directors, during its meeting on October 5, approved the extension of Ratan Kumar Kesh’s term as interim managing director and CEO for an additional one month, starting from October 10, or until a new MD & CEO assumes the role, whichever occurs first.”
Kesh had been appointed as the interim MD and CEO on July 10, 2024, for an initial term of three months after the retirement of the bank’s founder, MD, and CEO, Chandra Shekhar Ghosh.
Before this role, Kesh served as the executive director and chief operating officer since March 31, 2023. The bank has been actively searching for a permanent MD and CEO, considering both internal and external candidates, after Ghosh’s departure.
